The procedure includes 3 steps:

Step 1: Copy documents at any notary office in Taiwan.

Step 2: Consular authentication at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Step 3: Apply consular stamp.

After steps 1 and 2, Taiwan's paperwork is completed and recognized in the world. Step 3 is the host country's recognition of Taiwan's application.

Details:

Step 1: Notarization.

You can find the nearest notary office and go there to do it. Keyword: “公正所”.

Time: depending on the notary office, it may take 1 session or longer because the notary office needs to complete confirmation procedures with the school.

Expense:

  • If only in Chinese: 500NTD/document and 5 copies will be issued.
  • If other languages are available: 750NTD/document and 5 copies will be issued.

Step 2: Consular authentication at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Currently, in Taiwan there are 5 places that can do this: Taipei, Taichung, Chiayi, Kaohsiung and Hualien. Keyword: “Bureau of Consular Affairs Taiwan”.

  • Location: https://www.boca.gov.tw/lp-191-2.html
  • Working time: T+2 - meaning you can get it on Monday and Wednesday.
  • Cost: 400 NTD for 1 original and 200 NTD for 1 copy.

Step 3: Apply consular stamp

If going to another country, please refer to the document legalization regulations of the host country. In case of returning to Vietnam:

Method 1: Do it in Taiwan, get a consular legalization stamp at the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei (VECO) at a cost of 600 NTD / 1 stamp. Processing time can be quick or slow depending on whether VECO has many documents to process or not. Address: 3F, No. 65, Song Jiang Road, Zhongshan District, Taipei, Taiwan.

Method 2: Returning to Vietnam to work (slightly more complicated). First, you need to go to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City for consular authentication again (15 USD/copy), then stamp at the Consular Department (30,000 VND/1 stamp). . In recent years, this procedure can be done by post, without the owner needing to go (Base 1061/QD-BNG of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

Note:

  • If you are going to another country and need consular authentication, you only need to do steps 1 and 2. For step 3, please find out the requirements of the host country.
  • Original documents are very important, please be careful when applying.
