Permanent residence card (APRC) is perhaps one of the concerns for foreigners who intend to stay in Taiwan long term. Conditions for being granted a residence card and document requirements can be viewed in detail on the website of National Immigration Agency, ROC (Taiwan) to update the latest information (search for keyword "APRC Taiwan"). In this article, VIN Taiwan would like to mention the APRC for foreign experts working professionally in Taiwan after 5 years (university graduate), 4 years (master's graduate), 3 years (graduate doctor).
Some documents to prepare:
- APRC registration form: can be obtained from the Department of Immigration or downloaded from the website.
- 4 x 6 card photo: 1 photo.
- Passport: original and photocopy (both old and new passport used while in Taiwan), the original will be returned.
- Current residence card: original and photocopy, original will be returned.
- Personal income tax statement (Individual Income Tax Statement of the Republic of China) of the previous year: apply at the tax department when refunding or paying taxes. If declaring tax online, you can bring the tax notice to the tax department to apply. of this report, the immigration department will keep the original.
- Criminal record certificates (Criminal record certificates) for the last 5 years issued by the police agency: the immigration department keeps the original, keyword search information: Police Criminal Record Certificate + city of residence (Ex. Police Criminal Record Certificate Taipei). You can choose many forms to submit and receive this certificate depending on the specific instructions of each place.
- Degree: original and photocopy (highest degree), original will be returned.
- Work permit: original and photocopy, original will be returned.
- Certificate of Employment: apply within one month from the time of submitting the application, the immigration department will keep the original.
- House rental contract: if there is a change of address compared to the old residence card.
Note:
- TThe review period can last more than a month, so the old residence card needs to be valid from the time of application..
- After receiving the APRC, you can apply for a work permit (Open Work Permit).
