VIN Taiwan would like to congratulate new Doctor Ho Quang Thai on completing his thesis at Yuan Zhi University (Yuan Ze University - YZU), Taiwan.
Thesis of Dr. Ho Quang Thai with the title "Researching electron transport protein chains using multi-window scanning and natural language processing techniques" - "Using multiple windows scanning and natural language processing techniques to study electrons" transport proteins”. Food introduced into the body will be converted into glucose through many chemical reactions. However, a special group of proteins is needed to participate in this process to capture and transport electrons throughout the cell to provide energy for life for the whole body. The transport protein chain plays an extremely important role in the process of cellular respiration and soon attracted many researchers in the field of bioinformatics. This research applies two special techniques: multi-window scanning techniques inspired by Convolutional Neural Network and advances in the field of natural language processing to extract information hidden inside protein sequences. aims to classify and predict the function of the electron transport chain and FAD bonds, a type of bond that receives and transports energy throughout the cell. This new method overall achieves superior performance compared to previous methods, while also extracting and visualizing it into a sequence logo form that is more accessible to biologists. Based on this, researchers will be able to further expand their understanding of how the electron transport chain works in cells. The study also provides free web-based tools for research purposes. When he first arrived in Taiwan, Dr. Thai was also a bit confused because he had difficulty communicating in Chinese. However, he tried to quickly get over it and gradually get used to studying and living in Taiwan. After 6 years at YZU, Dr. Thai soon realized that bioinformatics is a very interesting and important field for human health and medicine. Therefore, together with lab members and professors, he has contributed to the research community with more than 18 publications in high-quality scientific publications and published his research on the server. of the laboratory. Scientific publications: Google Scholar.
In addition, he has many talents and actively participates in community activities in Taiwan. He and a group of friends formed a band and performed in many Vietnamese events in Taiwan and at school.
He plans to return to Vietnam and continue teaching at Can Tho University with the hope of being able to apply what he has learned to contribute to the development of Can Tho University in particular and the field. bioinformatics in Vietnam in general.
