MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS
- Registered 2 patents on the development and application of vaccine adjuvants in Taiwan.
- Currently chairing and co-chairing a number of school-level projects.
- Funded from Taiwan's Ministry of Science and Technology for international conference (2019).
- Received a Taiwan government scholarship for graduate students (MOE, September 2016-August 2020).
RESEARCH AREA
- Research on vaccine production for livestock (cows, pigs, chickens, ducks) and pets (dogs, cats).
- Production of new generation antigens and antigens using recombinant DNA technology.
- Research and application of flagellin from Salmonella typhi bacteria as an adjuvant to increase vaccine effectiveness through the mechanism of activating Toll-like receptor 5 on immune cells.
SOURCES OF ANTIGENS AND ADDITIVES UNDER STUDY
- Production of vaccines to prevent diseases: Bovine respiratory syncytial virus, Reduced egg laying rate in ducks (Duck egg drop syndrome virus), Avian cholera (Pasteurella multocida), Bloodborne parasites (Babesia gibsoni)
- Adjuvants: Flagellin (activates Toll-like receptor 5), Suilysin (activates Toll-like receptor 4)
